ALL THE WORLD IS A STAGE

The Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation hosted a Theatre Weekend at the Taj Deccan. Padma Shri Mohammad Ali Baig took to stage with Under an Oak Tree, a play revolving around the changing city. The depictions of childhood, adolescence and adulthood, juxtaposed with the world of glamour, reflected Baig’s life. Written by Noor Baig and produced by Begum Razia Baig, the detailed performance was designed and directed by Mohammad Ali Baig. Guests were seen having a great time, catching up with each other over the high tea prior to the power-packed performance.

FLY HIGH

Keeping the spirit of Sankranti alive, Srinivas Donthi and Prajyoth hosted a kite flying party on the terrace of Sri Chaitanya Kalasala, Himayathnagar. Guests were seen indulging in some light-hearted conversations and taking in the breathtaking views. Seen at the event were Sadhna Singh, Preetham Julekar, Keith, Grishmi, Shazia, Pooja and Suchitra, among many others.

BEAUTIFUL – INSIDE OUT

Mahavir Motors hosted a Health and Benz event to enlighten its customers about the basic workout look with Laila Khan and Rina Hindocha. Guests poured in, dressed in their yoga attire to learn a thing or two from the guest speakers. While Laila filled them in on how to look during their workouts and how to keep their hair and skin healthy, Rina taught them some basic, yet important yoga postures. In order to keep their agenda alive of promoting good health, they also served cold-pressed juices to everyone.

CATCHING UP

Reema Khan & Mosin Khan, proprietors of the US No.1 Makeover and Beauty Services Brand 'Shapes Style Lounge' Los Angeles, hosted a gala evening at the Shapes Style Lounge for family and friends during their visit to Hyderabad. The who's who of the city attended the gathering, including actress Bhoomika Chawla. Guests seemed to have a great time bonding with each other and sharing notes at the intimate do.

FLOWER POWER

Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter #250 had its annual exhibition Basket and Blooms. The event was an homage to the late Remani Nambiar, the first President of the Ikebana International Hyderabad Chapter. Chief guest was S.P. Singh, Chief Secretary of the Telangana Government and guest of honour was B. Venkatesham, Secretary of the Department of Tourism and Youth Advancement. Many creative works were on display.

TRIPLE THE CELEBRATION

Sashi Vangapalli - The Label in association with Levitite Events and Photography and Radhika Diamonds, hosted a grand event to celebrate the store’s 3rd anniversary. Guests caught up over wine and cheese as they swayed to live performances by Raghu Kunche, Kaushalya and Krishna Tejaswi. On display was Sashi’s new collection, diamond jewellery by Radhika and diamond ornaments by Levitite. The hostess, Sashi, looked stunning in a long black gown as she attended to all her guests.

MIRROR TO REALITY

Hyderabad was ecstatic to be the first Indian city to host Red Light Express, a play about the lives of sex workers. It was staged at N Convention to an audience of theater enthusiasts. The cast comprises 14 performers aged between 13 and 23 years; they were born and raised in Kamathipura, an infamous red-light area in Mumbai. The girls, who call themselves Kranti girls, put the play together on their own. Tarusha Saxena of Art Life Events, who brought the play to the city shared, “Bringing Lal Batti has been my dream. I am proud to see the city supporting such movements.”

SHOES FOR THE SOUL

24th Dec 2017 marked the beginning of yet another revolution as Yuva By Neeru’s launched their new story of fusion footwear and accessories. City shoppers made their presence felt as they looked around, spoilt rotten with choice. The store is located at Nagarjuna Circle, Banjara Hills and has something to offer for all. Spotted making pretty pictures were Aanchal Gupta, Neeru Kumar, Anju Jain, Avnish Kumar, Ash Kaur, Neeru Mohan, Anika, Madhuri, Satish Ahuja, Suchita and Sunny Ahuja.

LAP OF LUXURY

In the time-crunch that is 21st-century life, Audi has brought in some downtime. The all new Audi Q5 was recently launched at Taj Krishna. Custom-crafted experiences made the launch a classy affair. The evening was hosted by Rahil Ansari, Head, Audi India and Rajiv Sanghvi, Managing Director, Audi Hyderabad. Shilpa Singh, Samia Khan, Kavitha Reddi, Rajeev Reddy, Meher Aria, Laila and Feroz Khan, Manjula Narsa and Aamer Javeed were spotted dressed up to the nines.

MOVIE TIME

Hyderabad Round Table 212 hosted a special charity screening of the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai. Its proceeds were donated towards building schools for underprivileged children. Spotted enjoying the film were the cinephiles of the city, all who were dressed to their stylish best. Movie buffs gorged on popcorn, finger food and fizzy drinks before and after the movie. After the screening, they posed with their buddies and spent time catching up and discussing the nuances of the film.
